Amanda L. Weisheit, SLP

Amanda received her Master’s of Sciences degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Emerson College. Amanda holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a Massachusetts Speech Language Pathologist License, and a Massachusetts Teacher License. For the past thirteen years, Amanda has been the primary speech and language pathologist in an integrated preschool setting in Massachusetts where she has evaluated and treated children with various delays and disorders, as well as collaborated closely with related services providers, special education teachers, private clinicians, early intervention providers and, most importantly, families. Amanda also has experience in early intervention and private practice settings.

Amanda’s areas of specialization include articulation and phonological disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, early intervention, and expressive and receptive language delays and disorders. Amanda has specialized training in SCERTS®, Talk Tools®, Social Thinking®, and The Kaufman Speech and Language protocol. Although not a myofunctional specialist, she has completed continuing education training in order to reliably screen for possible underlying myofunctional disorders that may be impacting your child’s speech and can offer appropriate referrals as needed. Given her experience in the public schools, Amanda has extensive knowledge of the transition process from early intervention to public school services, as well as understanding and navigating the school evaluation and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meeting, planning, and writing process.

In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and goofy golden retriever. She loves reading, writing, and visiting the beach!

Amanda believes wholeheartedly in making therapy FUN! Treatment is evidence-based with the goal of remediating speech sound disorders so that your child no longer requires her support. She looks forward to working with your child and your family!
